When it comes to aiding sleep, both Horlicks and Ovaltine have great reputations. But is Ovaltine or Horlicks better for sleep? Well, Ovaltine advertises on its website that the minerals in their powder assist with the relaxation of muscles when drank before bed.

Great news for a bedtime drink! However, further down the page , they also say the vitamins will give you a kickstart to the day if drank in the morning. Not so great for a bedtime drink! As for Horlicks? They state on their website that nothing in their drink powder will induce drowsiness. But on the other hand, their marketing is definitely aimed at being a night-time drink. Even their packaging is relaxing! In addition to that, Horlicks does provide the most vitamins and minerals, edging Ovaltine out slightly on the health benefits.

And, we all know, warm milk is the ultimate bedtime drink — and the ultimate sleep-inducing ingredient! Remember, if you are struggling to sleep at night, it can help to be more active during the day.

There are still a fair number of people who remember your brand. Take your chance before its too late as the number of consumers who still remember the brand shrink every year. Good old memories nevertheless.

My mother still buys either Milo or Ovaltine , whatever is available here in the US… Filipino stores here sell these two brands. My mother remembers Horlicks. Like Like. I used to drink the stuff when I was younger, but it has vanished in recent times. Over here Horlicks is more famous, as I hail from a British colony. Fun read. So it makes sense in ex: India to have it simply for all the vitamins in the drink. Good point. The calories are a kicker due to the malted sugar content but it gives you that little oomph to start your day or keep it going.

Thanks for sharing! Ovaltine is a drink we used at bedtime to relax before going to bed. But some of my friends certainly do that. Milo as a start to the day! I have been drinking Ovaltine hot or cold since I was a child. I also have had Horlicks but in Canada where I live it is not so easy to find. Milo is what I drink when I am in the US as that is what is in the stores here. I think that is must be made somewhere different or with a slightly different recipe.

I believe you are right. They change the tastes as they move across countries. Some of my friends in the States have Horlicks sweets shipped to them. So you have a way to get your Horlicks fix! And I'm sure we can agree these are all superior to nesquick.
